The second fall semester has begun. This round, I have decided to take three courses instead of two. PHP, JavaScript, and technical writing. Typically, I would do two, but I want to get out there and code sooner rather than later. It does not sound like much until I consider that I have a full-time management position, a computer repair business, and four children to rear. Not to mention the time dedicated to nonacademic studies and hobbies to help maintain my sanity
Yesterday I received my second certificate of recognition of excellence in scholarship. Though I hit a 100% final grade in Intro to Computer Fundamentals, my overall GPA dipped below 3.9 to 3.88. I still have a chance to graduate summa cum laude, but I desperately need to watch out for those basic classes. Three remain. My goal for the spring semester is to dedicate my time to get those out of the way.
Another goal is to spend at least every reading week conducting a study of my choosing from start to finish. The first is complete and posted here. I was aiming for one whole block per semester (seven weeks). However, with the winter months quickly approaching, that may be too much to ask of myself.
I will be looking forward to the challenges that await me during the turn of the new year. Wish me luck!
